[Kannon]

Two Harkonnen spread out to come at the two pings running from opposite directions. [Still at Long in relation to Laila, Extreme to the rest, but Laila can't go to Extreme in relation to them now.]

The other two, including Rabban, bade their time for now. [At Extreme from Kiran, Duncan and the rest]

[Kids! I don't roll for the others for now - they don't join the fray and stay in Stealth mode until they take action.]

[Laila Bridger]

Laila settled into a an easy trot, slower than she was ordinarily capable of, leading a trail toward where Duncan had hidden his tracker- stragglers trying to catch up with the lead elements.

The second they got a clear visual on her, they'd know something was up, so she did her best to keep the distance up, to draw them in. If the Harkonnens wanted to split up, they could maybe isolate them in ones or twos.

[Kiran Alsahar]

Kiran waited, tossing a pebble down into the pile of leaves to get their attention to it. "Hide and seek, assholes," she whispered under her breath.

[Kannon]

One shot lasgun reflexively in that direction, setting up a small fire.

Rabban, however, had a greater hunting sense. He let the minions go first, to stir his game.

And they did. They started shooting at Laila as she ran, but their accuracy was subpar between the trees. One was faster than the other and there was a chance he might fall into the trap.

[Kiran Alsahar]

Kiran narrowed their eyes. That was the strongest one, for sure. She wasn't smart or strong, but she was cunning. She'd make sure he wasn't the only predator around here.

They had basic weapons, thanks to her, Laila, and Duncan. Enough to kill, with some surprise and stealth. They slipped down from the treetop, close enough to the burning leaves to throw a stick to make a burst, then through the limbs dropping small rocks to sound like running footsteps. Maybe she could lure the twitchy-fingered hunter into the pit trap after all.

[Laila Bridger]

With hunters in direct pursuit, Laila opened up the throttle a bit more, acting as if panic had set in.

Nothing could have been further from the truth.

Chase me, you bastard, that's right, right this way...

[Kannon]

For a moment, they arrested the chase to take shots, but both ignited trees rather than Laila.

Rabban and the other Harkonnen moved to encircle the area where tracking devices pinged, potentially cutting off escape routes.

[Extreme, from another direction]

Xard and Yoll remained hidden and did not seem to be planning anything abrupt.

Kiran remained ensconced in the trees, climbing higher and moving to check their other traps. They'd fall into this one or they wouldn't, but they needed to sort out an escape route. They were distracted and this certainly looked like a last stand, so they weren't likely to think they'd put in all this effort and then disappear. They could get far enough for their trail to go cold well before they realized the kids were gone.

[Laila Bridger]

Laila scrambled into the cave- dropped the trackers she was carrying next to Duncan's- and scrambled out.

[Kannon]

While Rabban and his lieutenant kept - in their own minds - tightening the noose, the shooters had got irritated with inaccuracy of their shots and rushed in prematurely when the tracking signals converged. When they entered the spot by the cave's entrance where the kids wanted them, Duncan pushed the rocks. They tried to dodge it, but it was too late. Heads smashed, bodies broken after a shriek Rabban must have heard over the comms, they got piled up just enough to be defenceless even if life didn't leave them fully yet.

"Now, let's grab their lasguns and knives!" Duncan called as he descended himself in hops down the rummage.

[Laila Bridger]

"Hell yes. Have they got shields we can reach? Even if they don't work, might slow the others up from firing..."

[Kannon]

They were either not there or buried too deep. One of them was alive still...

[Kiran Alsahar]

Kiran dropped down from the trees at the mouth of the cave, having heard the Rockwall. She wasn't worried about shields so much as just grabbing the lasguns. "They'd be idiots to even bring them. They be reduced to a rapidly dissipating red mist with one wrong hip bump."

[Kannon]

Duncan grabbed one lasgun just as Xard rushed down as well, tore the knife off the Harkonnen belt and finished him with a vengeful stab.

"Perhaps we can get to their thopter before them!"

[Kiran Alsahar]

Kiran grabbed a lasting and nodded. "Let's hurry. We need to do it while they're distracted and think they're chasing us." Kiran started hurrying in that direction, keeping awareness alive on all sides.

[Laila Bridger]

Laila opted for a second knife- just to be safe.

"All right then. Let's get to it."

[Kannon]

They darted, though just like in the tunnels some were quicker than others. Duncan had got to the thopter by the time Rabban encountered the rummage. He sent his lieutenant to chase them while himself he sought a clear, elevated terrain.

[Laila Bridger]

Someone with a gun will need to handle return fire, but me...

Laila, fit and fearsome, a knife in each hand, let herself slip toward the rear.

If I "trip" and he gets close, might be I can make him regret it...

[Kiran Alsahar]

Kiran was sprinting like their life depended on it, forcing their lungs to maximize oxygen as much as she could. Her training wasn't much, but it gave her some things.
