It wouldn't be a real festival without drinking. Bonfires are lit, cider and wine and brandy and what-have-you is flowing... Some had started early, falling to the temptation of previously served wines and ciders, some only after lord Lanville had inaugurated the evening with his toast, some only now. Around here, lone drinkers are frowned upon, so do it with friends, have a laugh, tell a story, sing a song!
---
The crowd is split roughly 3 groups: the tipsy, the drunk, and the wasted. You choose which you approach and address with your impromptu performance. Each must be preceded by downing one. It can be a story, a joke, or a song. Please provide the actual lyrics or the story or the joke in your post, and adjust the content to the audience, I'll be reading them and reacting accordingly with the crowd, mismatch will have consequences!
If you perform for the tipsy, the roll is Charm, and difficulty is Hard. The group is still quite discerning and favouring moderation, and contains a number of young people who want to keep energies for dancing and perhaps something else if they are impressed. Success meets applause, and failure meets polite claps. Triumph and Despair generate GM-crafted results.
If you perform for the drunk, they are ready for more juicy performances, but also interrupt all the time. The roll is Leadership or Negotiation to get to the end of what you're about to present without being bogged down by those who know the lyrics or the ending better. Success meets toasts and cheers and strong encouragements to join the heavy drinking, failure meets even stronger, practically irresistible encouragements to join the heavy drinking. Triumph and Despair generate GM-crafted results, both rather rowdy.
If you perform for the wasted, they take pretty much monosyllables as extremely funny and reason for more drinking, both yours and theirs. The roll is Discipline and the difficulty is Easy, but upgraded. The success means you've performed, got recognition among the true drunkards, and was somehow able to step away. Failure means you joined them and this is all you remember. Triumph or Despair mean epic things happen thereafter which you won't remember, but others will!
Advantages and Threats can be used for fluff editing audience reactions.
The best and the worst performances will write themselves down in the collective memory of the community and will be the subject of much referencing thereafter.
[This is the last thread of pregame chronologically, covering time after nightfall, so you can get drunk here without impact for other threads.]
