Re: Eye of the Beholder [Afternoon 1]

Bern wasn't the most sneaky sort of fellow. He knew how to get out of work on the farm, but that was for other reasons. Following Kova's direction, he attempted to follow thru with it, but it was obvious he was never cut to be a tracker or a hunter. ~~ Sneaky Guy with a shotgun... (Using 4 banked ad...

Re: Eye of the Beholder [Afternoon 1]

Bern had actually had gone skiing once. Friends took him to the mountains and he attempted it. He didn't fall flat on his face too many times, and the people who were with him gave him a few pointers that, thankfully, still stuck with him. It was a bit unstable as he went down the slopes, but he man...

Re: The House That Rabban Unbuilt [Morning 1]

The woman reminded him of his own mother back home. Very calm, but could easily lay on the guilt and manipulation to make you feel bad just enough to get you to do what she wanted. Still, at least one of them was interested in doing back-breaking labor, leaving the rest of them to figure out how to ...

Re: White Hell Dive [Night 1]

Bern began to shuffle thru his bag for any rations that would meet that request. It was mostly dried meat, canned fish, some dried fruit and some powdered drink, so he opened one and handed Kova the dried fruit from it and smiled. "Best I got, Kova. Sorry it isn't much."

Re: White Hell Dive [Night 1]

"Mike here. Can we ride it again?" Bern's voice rang out from the comms as he began to gather his things. "Managed to make it in without incident. Just getting sorted and I'll head over." He grabbed his scattergun and the rest of the gear and inspected it, checking his ammo and supplies. Fortunately...

Re: White Hell Dive [Night 1]

Bernard's was all nerves, even if he didn't try to show it. As he settled in, he nodded to everyone at the surface and to the other Sgt there. "Race you to the bottom, Efren." A slight smile showed as the pod was sealed before he was alone and the absolute fear he felt could be shown in private. A f...

Re: White Hell Dive [Night 1]

Bern thought of a moment, considering how the group will be split for the most part. "Probably should establish a rally point or a time sync once we're split. Also, for whatever reason, if the relay net goes dark, are we prioritizing signal silence or bursts for updates?"

Re: White Hell Dive [Night 1]

Land in the pods.
Scout the area.
Find the target and escape.
Going in mostly blind.
Longer we're there, the longer we risk being caught.

This was going to be a great time. "Yes sir. We'll get it done." Ambrose asked what he was thinking of, so that saved him the time to even mentioning it.

Re: The Deeper You Dig... [Day 0]

Bern continued to monitor the situation, keeping his blade at hand should the worst happen. The thump was a definite concern, and anything doing that would probably become a problem the moment they opened the door.

Bern was never a great scout. He led great scouts, and that theme would continue. "I see" says the blind man. Re: The Deeper You Dig... [Day 0]

The other sgt's deft work had already done more than he had so far, so he helped those who would need it. "Good work, Lanville." He peered into the darkness for a moment to see if was staring back at him, and, satisfied with the results, made a move towards the pulley to help with the descent to hel...

Re: The Deeper You Dig... [Day 0]

Bern, also not being knowledgeable of the science behind metals, listened in to the conversation as he looked around for any gear that could be useful in the room while the scanner did its work.

Re: The Deeper You Dig... [Day 0]

Leaving the other two to examine the body, Bern follows the Mentat around, letting him take point. It was better anyway; he was not much of a trap finder or examiner. His eyes went to search the dome instead, looking for something that could be taken advantage of. Again, not much of his strong suit,...

Re: The Deeper You Dig... [Day 0]

Nodding to Efren in thanks for the assistance for the quick patch, he chose not to comment on it. He wasn't much for else for the comment of Thufir. He wasn't much of a gearhead as the rest of them, after all, but still, he showed respect to him as he entered out into the atmosphere and there it was...

Re: The Deeper You Dig... [Day 0]

There were many things Bernard had gotten over his life: a strong family bond with his family, a good career in the military, a bottle of wine, aged 10 years, ready to open when this was over. This situation, however, was not something he had. ~~ How do I shot web? (Mechanics) (Pulling 2 advantages ...

Re: The Deeper You Dig... [Day 0]

It had been some time since he had his low gravity training. The basics were still rattling around in his hand. 'Every action has a equal and opposite reaction.' And while there was a lot of science and math involved, all that equated to was 'don't move faster than you can counteract. So, as the cap...

Bern pulled her up closer to him to readjust to the weight and smiled at the compliment. "Well, I wouldn't know how to be anything else to him, Laila." The tent was finally coming close, but he slowed down a bit to chat a little bit longer. "Now, I can't do any spoilers for those stories, need that ...

So much for heading home and getting a chance to recover. Hopefully this time, at least, he could be more prepped with better equipment, rather than the simple things he brought along to deal with robbers. He listened to the talk in silence, having not been addressed and knowing his place in the ra...

Re: Day 3 | Night | Safely Aboard

"Yes, yes, I know. I wouldn't be a good brother, though, if I didn't spend a few moments to encourage the thought while sticking my nose where it doesn't belong at the same time." Bern grinned and pressed on. "He's a idiot, after all, and may need that extra knock on the head to think of it." Lookin...
