When Nirilli approached the Archon's palatial section, she'd notice guards being posted by the entrance, something not practised often since she had started serving Irene.

Out of sheer hate of surprises, Laila would be the first to notice Emcas by the entrance.

For now, Hadrian dismissed the idea, confident that he could handle the relationship with Chilon on his own. So as the man's business seemed to be still open, he decided to go for it.
